Pulmonaria Trevi Fountain 2lt
Pulmonaria ‘Trevi Fountain’ is an ornamental herbaceous perennial in the family Boraginaceae, selected for its striking foliage and early-season floral display. It is a cultivar of lungwort, widely used as a shade-tolerant groundcover.
Growth habit:
A clump-forming, low-growing perennial with a spreading habit achieved slowly by rhizomes. Forms dense, tidy mounds of foliage.
Size:
Typically 25–30 cm (10–12 in) tall in flower, spreading to 45–60 cm (18–24 in) over time.
Flowering stems are upright, lightly hairy, and rise above the foliage mound in early spring.
Flowers are rich in nectar and highly attractive to early pollinators, especially bees.
Distinctive characteristics:
‘Trevi Fountain’ is especially noted for its exceptionally silver foliage, strong disease resistance compared to older lungworts, and its vivid bicolor floral display, making it a standout cultivar for woodland gardens, shade borders, and underplanting of shrubs.
